Member News: My-Villages Announces New DockMaster Cloud Customers

New customers across the U.S. are using DockMaster – on site and in the Cloud – to automate inventory, service & repair, boat sales, accounts payable, accounts receivable, transient reservations and more

HOBE SOUND, Fla. – Nov. 19, 2014My-Villages, a leading technology provider for consumers and service professionals , today announced that six new marine customers have installed DockMaster, the leading suite of marine business software,  and 11 of My-Villages’ existing customers have converted to the DockMaster hosted Cloud solution.

“Boat yards, marinas and service companies are discovering that automation is the key to superior customer service and business growth,” said Kevin Hutchinson, the founder and CEO of My-Villages. “DockMaster 8.0 is fast to implement and flexible, allowing businesses to install on site or in the Cloud. It vastly simplifies everyday administrative tasks, allowing service pros to spend more time focusing on the customer, and finding new ways to expand their businesses.”

DockMaster 8.0 automates all of a marine business’ tasks and activities, such as inventory, service and repair, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer relationship management, boat sales and transient reservations. Intuitive and easy to use, the system streamlines business activities and helps companies provide attentive and efficient service to their customers.

Marine businesses can install the system on site, or choose to let My-Villages host the solution in the Cloud. With DockMaster’s Cloud offering, companies do not have to purchase and maintain a local server, incur IT consultant expenses or perform regular data backups, resulting in greater server uptime, higher security and fewer IT troubleshooting issues.

My-Villages has hired additional support and training staff to meet its new clients’ needs across the Northeast, Midatlantic, Southeast, Midwest and Western U.S.  New DockMaster customers include the City of Rock Island, Ill.; Tuppens Marine, Lake Worth, Fla.; Pelican Rest Marina, Galveston, Texas; Faro Blanco Marina, Marathon, Fla.; Campbell’s Boatyard, Oxford, Md.; and Bemidji Marine in Bemidji, Minn.

Existing DockMaster customers that have converted to the hosted Cloud solution include Calusa Island Marina, Goodland, Fla.; Fastboats, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Oak Bluffs Marina in Oak Bluffs, Mass. Traina Enterprises, including seven locations in Georgia as well as the Fourwinds Resort in Bloomington, Ind., has also committed to the hosted Cloud solution.

“We spent several months evaluating different solutions, and chose DockMaster because no other solution had anything approaching DockMaster’s functionality,” said new customer Davy Mills of Bemidji Marine in Bemidjii, Minn. “DockMaster is designed with an understanding of our business – our need to multi-task, communicate with clients, schedule tasks, print, manage receivables and more.”

Cloud customer Kim Sweers of Fastboats in Pompano Beach, Fla., added, “We decided to go with the Cloud solution because there’s no server to purchase and maintain, no need for on-site IT troubleshooting and no manual backups for staff to remember. Backups happen automatically, which gives us all peace of mind.”

Started in 1983, and acquired by My-Villages late last year, DockMaster is the largest marine management business suite, now in use at more than 600 facilities in North America, the Caribbean, Central America and Western Europe.
