Member News: Front Street Shipyard Introduces New Representative in Refit Market

Front Street Shipyard in Belfast, Maine, has contracted Bacchus Yacht Consultancy of Palm Beach, Florida, to source and sell superyacht refit work for the yard. Bacchus Yacht Consultancy, owned by Michael Bach, will represent Front Street Shipyard in new business development, particularly in the Florida and Caribbean refit markets. Superyacht project managers, captains and owners are encouraged to discuss their current and future refit needs with Michael Bach, who will provide a full outline of Front Street Shipyard’s growing capabilities upon request.

Bacchus Yacht Consultancy is now promoting opportunities for new refit projects at Front Street Shipyard as shop space becomes available in the spring and summer. Front Street Shipyard is currently in the final stages of two major refits: a 124-foot Palmer Johnson pilothouse ketch and a 155-foot Bruce King-designed cold-molded sloop. Other notable recent refits include a 130-foot tri-deck motoryacht, a 122-foot classic commuter yacht, and a 106-foot aluminum Burger.

“Bacchus Yacht Consultancy provides Front Street Shipyard with a presence in a major yachting hub in Southern Florida,” said JB Turner, president of Front Street Shipyard. “Michael Bach is a knowledgeable representative of the yard who will spread the word to captains and owners who may not yet be familiar with us.”

Since Front Street Shipyard’s launch in early 2011, the yard’s capabilities have grown consistently to position the yard as a premier international superyacht destination. With a 485-ton yacht hoist and indoor shop space that accommodates vessels up to 160 feet, Front Street Shipyard is able to undertake major refits efficiently. Deep water and an expansive marina ensure that yachts have access to the yard year-round.

“Having worked with Front Street Shipyard in the past as an owner’s representative, I came to appreciate the quality, efficiency and sense of fairness that the yard offers its customers,” said Michael Bach. “I was so pleased with my experience there that I became an unofficial ambassador for the yard, making this business relationship a natural progression.”

Bacchus Yacht Consultancy is an owner’s advocacy company that promotes relationships between the yards, services, vendors and yachts that will result in the best possible refits. Bach’s role with Front Street Shipyard is to promote its refit capabilities and craftsmanship throughout the superyacht community internationally. Bach will facilitate relationships between Front Street Shipyard and the owners, captains and project managers who are considering or sourcing comprehensive refits. Based in Palm Beach, Florida, Bacchus Yacht Consultancy is available by phone at (+1) 954-681-2384, by email at [email protected], and online at bycyacht.com.

Bacchus Yacht Consultancy will complement Front Street Shipyard’s other business development team led by Bruce Johnson, who represents the yard in new construction opportunities. Johnson is available by phone at (+1) 646-472-6254 or by email at [email protected].
