About the Webinar:
In this Webinar, attendees will be introduced to Vibration Theory and learn how they can utilize it as a preventative/predictive maintenance tool to keep their vessel in optimal working order. Basic terminology and practices will be reviewed to round out the introduction. In addition, the most advanced computerized data collection methods will be demonstrated to feature its accuracy and efficiency.
Attendees will become familiar with basic fault identification such as engine mounts, engine misfire, bent shafts or propellers and misalignment issues. And lastly, detailed case studies will be showcased to give real-world working examples of Vibration Theory in the field.
About the Speaker:
Richard Merhige comes from a long line of engineers and grew up on the water, hence, his lifelong passion for the ocean and fixing things. In 1992, Rich Merhige founded Advanced Maintenance Engineering and later in 2002 Advanced Mechanical Enterprises, servicing the maritime and industrial sectors. He attended the State University of New York Maritime College, earning a Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering, continuing his education in Systems and Ocean Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic, and George Washington Universities. He furthered his specialized training, earning a USCG License as a Second Assistant Engineer Steam & Motor, Unlimited Horsepower and a certification as a Vibration Analyst. Guided by his knowledge and expertise, AME is recognized as an external specialist for condition monitoring by the American Bureau of Shipping. Merhige is sought the world over as a speaker, instructor, and expert witness for his knowledge and expertise in vibration analysis.
