ABBRA Honors John Hall Jr. of Frank Hall Boatyard in Westerly Rhode Island with the Prestigious Dennis Snow President’s Award at the 2015 Boatyard Business Conference

Fort Lauderdale, FL – January 26, 2015 – The 2015 recipient of the prestigious American Boat Builders & Repairers Association (ABBRA) Dennis Snow President’s Award is John Hall Jr., CMM, owner and president of Frank Hall Boatyard in Westerly, Rhode Island. Given for significant and lasting contributions to the boatyard and marine service/repair industry, the award was presented at the ABBRA Annual Awards Dinner during its recent Boatyard Business Conference held January 21st-23rd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In presenting the award, outgoing ABBRA president John Fitzgerald said, “John represents the third generation of his family to own the Avondale/Westerly, Rhode Island yard. His company is well respected in the community with reviews that describe the staff at Frank Hall Boatyard as great, and characterizes it as a very quiet location with a marina full of good people,” Fitzgerald also emphatically noted, “John is the leader of those good people.”

John Hall has served the industry through active membership and board representation with the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association.  He has been a loyal advocate of ABBRA for more than 25 years and is a past president of the association. His commitment to excellence in customer care, his passion for and consistent practice of high standards in repair and production work throughout the years, along with  his active involvement and support for workforce development initiatives are a few of the reasons John Hall Jr. is deserving of the Dennis Snow President’s Award. He has dedicated his entire career to the boatyard industry as his father did before him. “I knew Dennis Snow, and to receive this award given in his name is a great honor to me,” Hall said in his acceptance remarks.
