We are YOUR Association – Help us help you.

I’ve been thinking recently about what it means to be a part of an Association. Each of us perhaps has a different definition, but I found this one today which I think sums up how I feel about ‘OUR’ Association.

“An Association is a group of people (called Members) who come together for a common purpose. The motive for people to come together is to combine their energy and share resources, to create or provide services and programs which they desire for themselves, or to give to others.” (http://www.leoisaac.com/boards/boards12.htm)

This means that an Association works best when all the Members make the time to join the conversation. This can be hard when we are all so busy, but our job is to listen to you, to help craft the direction and content you feel is important, to create meaningful objectives that help not only you our Members, but others too. An Association therefore, is only as strong as it’s Members.

So make time this year, to join us in Portland, Maine, on the evening of June 26th to celebrate the achievements of so many of our members, and help us define what is important to you, the following day, June 27th, as we move forward into 2017 and beyond. This is YOUR chance to speak up and be heard.
